Day of the retro train - photo report
On Saturday, 24 September 2016, Station Museum welcomed a retro train comprised of a Ty42-107 steam locomotive and historic passenger cars. The train came to Warsaw from the Chabówka Rolling‑Stock Heritage Park to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the Polish State Railways.
The highlight of the day was the retro train’s journey to Sochaczew and back. During the 90‑minute stop at the station in Sochaczew, the passengers could visit a branch of Sation: Museum, the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum, which boasts the largest collection of narrow gauge rolling stock in Europe.
After returning to Station Museum, the train was open for visitors. Thanks to PKP Cargo S.A., the steam locomotive was illuminated with colourful lights in the evening, which made it an even more desirable to photograph.
Another part of the programme was refuelling the steam locomotive by a fire brigade.
The event was organised by Station Museum, Polskie Koleje Państwowe S.A. and PKP Cargo S.A.
The event was organised in cooperation with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., PKP Intercity S.A. and PKP Energetyka S.A.
